ffmpeg2theora software package provides Theora video encoder using ffmpeg, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg2theora
ffmpeg2theora is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ffmpeg2theora package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ffmpeg2theora *
You will get with ffmpeg2theora package name, version, architecture and description in a table
